At the stroke of midnight, when half of the world
slept, I opened a mail from CBC (Cognizant Business Consulting) HR. This is
what the letter from HR had in it.
Joining: Pune
Location: Chennai
Trust me fellas I was not able to sleep that
night. I don't know what kept me awake. May be I was not able to come to the
terms that this could happen to me. How can God be so unfair? How can HRs of CBC
be so unfair? Slowly but surely I prepared myself for the things to come,
everyday praying that a letter regarding change of location might knock on my
Inbox. But Alas! It did not happen.
4 weeks hence, landed up in Pune. Whenever I have
travelled to Pune, I always get a feeling that this is a developed city
interspersed by some rustic looking areas. It looks like this city is trying
its best to be like a Bangalore but something is holding it back. Soon I
believe those shackles will be broken and we will have another wonderful city
for us to live in.
1 week hence, from the Oxford of East I landed at
the one of the major city on the Eastern coast of India. I landed in Chennai
around 12:30 am and as I came out of the airport, a gush of winds with humidity
above 80% blew past my face and that weather’s way to say "Welcome to Chennai".
We drove around for about 45mins passing through some barren lands on both the
side of the road. God knows where the driver was taking us. Finally after some
time we did saw some settlements around and within one of those was our guest
house. As we entered the guest house got a room, immediately the house keeper
switched on the AC, this white good holds a very important place in Chennai
life. We slept thinking that AC was working but actually it wasn't. The only
purpose AC was serving was giving us assurance and a feel of what Chennai is
going to be.....
